Take a look at the Ellen's Kitchen website.
http://www.ellenskitchen.com/faqs/tofumilk.html#blanch
She says blanching kills the enzyme that normally produces the beany taste after the beans are ground.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-187939946987190646.post-13755585986671382392008-02-10T08:02:00.000+02:002008-02-10T08:02:00.000+02:00Hopefully it works, Purnima. The trick is that when they sit in the water for too long, they start develop the "beany" smell. Wash them super well and scrub hard after soaking and grind in new fresh cold water.
Otherwise, try Mahanandi recipe (in the post above). She boils the beans first (in fresh water) and then grinds them,... This could prevent soy beans to develop the "beany" smell.zlamushkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12359856305294505035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-187939946987190646.post-43794625157637141462008-02-08T05:54:00.000+02:002008-02-08T05:54:00.000+02:00Hi, you are a life saver!
